Rumor Updates on Canon EOS R, Canon EOS RP and M50 Mark II Successors

According to latest rumors, the next batch of announcements includes Canon EOS R, Canon EOS RP, and Canon EOS M50 Mark II successors.

Of course this year’s main focus is the Canon EOS R1 which is rumored to be in testing. On the other hand it is being said that the company is also working to update several other models such as Canon EOS R, Canon EOS RP and M50 Mark II.

If everything goes under schedule, the successors will arrive at the end of 2022 or just in the beginning of 2023. As expected these Canon cameras would be the EOS R Mark II, EOS RP Mark II and M50 Mark III. Stay tuned for more information.

Canon Has Registered Several New Cameras and Lenses

Canon might announce two new and fast Cinema zoom lenses in April 2022. According to Digicame-info, Canon recently has registered several new cameras, lenses, and speedlite flash.

Both lenses are said to feature a T stop of 2.0. One lens might start between 14mm and 20mm and go up between 40mm and 60mm. The other lens might start between 30mm ad 45mm and go up to 80mm-90mm.

Both lenses are designed for a Super 35mm imaging sensor but can be used with a converter.

Canon EOS R7 APS-C Camera to be Announced Next ?

According to recent Canon rumors, the upcoming APS-C RF mount mirrorless camera could be named Canon EOS R7.

In January 2022, Canon officially announced the new Canon EOS R5 C (Amazon/B&HPhoto/Adorama). Now, according to the latest rumors from CR2, this new camera will come as early as March of this year 2022.

Canon EOS R7 is rumored to feature a 32.5MP APS-C CMOS sensor, DIGIC X Image Processor, 5-Axis IBIS and UHD 4K60p & Full HD 120p video and more. We expect the Canon EOS R7 to position between the M50 and EOS 7D. 

Canon EOS R7  is already in the list of Upcoming Canon Cameras for 2022  We expect the compact APS-c camera to be announced  as early as in March 2022.

Canon APS-C RF Mount Mirrorless Cameras Coming in Late 2022

According to recent Canon rumors, the camera giant will definitely release at least one APS-C RF mount mirrorless camera in 2022. Currently, there is no information about new APS-C RF mount mirrorless camera will be an EOS R7 or just an RF mount EOS M mirrorless camera.

Canon BSI APS-C EOS R Camera Coming in the Second Half of 2022

According to latest rumors, Canon is working on a new APS-C RF mount camera which is expected to be released in the second half of 2022.

Canon APS-C EOS R mirrorless camera will feature a backside-illuminated sensor. The resolution of this APS-c sensor is unknown at this time, but we expect it to have 28MP-32MP. This new BSI APS-C RF mount camera will probably be the long-awaited Canon EOS R7.

Rumors About Canon EOS R7, EOS R8 & EOS R9 APS-C Mirrorless Cameras

Canon is rumored to announce three new APS-C format RF mount mirrorless cameras. This rumor is about possible  Canon EOS R7, EOS R8 & EOS R9 that will arrive in the next 1-2 years:.

Canon EOS R7: The first Canon RF mount camera with an APS-C image sensor. It is already undergoing testing in the field by a select group of photographers. The official announcement will come as soon as Q4 of 2021, or Q1 in 2022. The source claims that the Canon EOS R7 APS-C RF mount camera will be “directly aimed at sports, wildlife and videography”, to replace the Canon EOS 7D Mark II? And this Canon EOS R7 is rumored to have a 32.5MP APS-C CMOS sensor, DIGIC X Image Processor, 5-Axis IBIS and UHD 4K60p & Full HD 120p video and more.

Canon EOS R8: The second Canon APS-C RF mount mirrorless camera. This camera will be designed for vloggers and other types of social media creators.

Canon EOS R9: The third Canon APS-C RF mount mirrorless camera. This will be the entry-level camera to the EOS R system.

Of course, these are just rumors and we cannot claim that all these models will be implemented yet. The previous rumor said that Canon will stop spending more resources developing Canon EOS M series cameras and 2021 will be the last year for Canon EOS M series cameras. This information is still not verified by reliable sources so take this information with a pinch of salt.
